Rules and Regulations

1. Each team will consist of four players.

2. The game will be played in “Best Ball Scramble” format. Each player hits a drive off the tee. The group then selects the best ball and all other players in the group get their ball and take it to the location of the best drive. Each group member then takes a shot from the location of the selected drive. The best second shot is selected and the other group members get their ball and take it to the location of the selected second shot. All group members then hit a third shot from the location of the second selected shot. This continues until the ball is putted out. Remember to mark your putts…if everyone in the group misses a putt you must select the best one in order to continue.

3. Each player in the group must count at least 3 drives (tee shots).

4. Each foursome must mark one score per hole on their score card. In addition list which team member drove on each hole.

5. A two shot penalty will be given to teams handing in scorecards that are incomplete or show players who counted less than 3 drives.

6. Aside from the scramble rules, we will observe the normal rules of golf with the following exceptions:

  • “Whiffs” will not count.
  •  Preferred lies at all times (including the rough) However you may not move a ball from the rough to the fairway.
7. Mulligans may only be used by the player who received them during morning signup.

8. Golfers must abide by the dress code.  Hawaiian shirts are mandatory.  Failure to comply will result in ridicule from your peers, and who needs more of that.  If you don’t have one, borrow one.

9. This tournament is a day to get together with friends and play golf.  Many of the players rarely play golf but show up anyways to have some fun.  We all want to win but please do not stack your four-some with ringers.  Remember it’s about having a good time with friends.

10. No professional golfers. If you have ever played professionally you may not play. We are out here to have fun and compete with our peers not pros. Please be honest and score correctly as we will be giving out prizes for the winners.
